Man arrested after hiding inside business until it closed

A 28-year-old man is facing two charges after he was discovered inside a business after it closed, activating an alarm while moving around in the early morning hours of Nov. 7.

Officers responded to the business located in the 700 block of Second Street SE at 1:45 a.m. after an alarm sounded at a business, and conducted an interior search, locating the concealed man within the building.

Police say the man entered the premises during regular business hours and remained inside after closing. As he began moving throughout the premises, he activated the alarm, prompting a police response.

The 28-year-old man has been charged with breaking out after committing an indictable offence and resisting arrest and was released on an undertaking.

The man is scheduled to appear before court on Jan. 7.
