newsdesk@medicinehatnews.com In the early morning hours of Nov 1, RCMP responded to a report from the Brooks Hotel of a male wearing a green dinosaur costume who had climbed up the back wall of the building and broken a window. According to Mounties, the “Dinosaur Capture Unit” responded to the call and located the male hiding among the buses down the street at approximately 2 a.m. “The dinosaur, who had turned back into a male, was arrested for mischief and held until sober,” reads a press release. Three impaired drivers charged Three drivers face charges, suspension and vehicle seizures following three separate traffic stops conducted by Brook RCMP last Sunday during the early morning hours. At approximately 1:45 a.m. a Brooks RCMP officer was on patrol along Seventh Street E when they observed a vehicle having difficulty maintaining the road and was swerving within the lane. The officer conducted a traffic stop and read a Mandatory Alcohol Screening demand to the driver who blew a caution. The driver was charged under provincial sanctions and the vehicle was seized for seven days. Shortly after 3 a.m., officers observed a vehicle approach a stop sign at an aggressive speed. A traffic stop was conducted, where the driver was read a Mandatory Alcohol Screening and blew a fail. The driver was charged under provincial sanctions and the vehicle was seized for 30 days. Approximately an hour later, shortly before 4 a.m., a third impaired driver was spotted by police travelling at a high rate of speed on Lakewood Drive. Following the same screening tests, the driver blew a fail, but his appeal sample showed a caution. The driver was charged under provincial sanctions and the vehicle was seized for three days. Fail to comply Jeremy Anderson of Brooks was arrested and held for a bail hearing for two outstanding warrants and has been remanded into custody. Last Friday morning, RCMP’s assistance was requested by a city peace officer who was conducting a traffic stop of a vehicle where Anderson was riding as a passenger. Anderson had two outstanding warrants for failing to comply with release order conditions. 19
