Cyanobacteria advisory lifted at Reesor Lake

By Medicine Hat News on November 6, 2025.

Recent cooler weather has brought down both the water temperature and the risk for cyanobacteria in Reesor Lake.

Effective immediately, Alberta Health Services has lifted the cyanobacteria advisory for Reesor Lake in Cypress County.

Visitors are still reminded to never drink or cook with untreated water directly from any recreational body of water at any time, and that boiling water does not remove the toxins associated with cyanobacteria.

An alternate source of drinking water should also be provided for pets and livestock any time cyanobacteria may be of concern.
