RCMP seek truck stolen from downtown Bassano

Mounties are on the search for a 2015 Chevy pickup truck which was stolen Friday morning after being left unattended for a brief period of time downtown Bassano.

The pickup, a dark blue Chevrolet Silverado 1500 extended cab 4×4 pickup with Alberta plate BLB-9120, was left unattended for less than a minute to warm up when it was stolen shortly before 8 a.m.

Police have canvassed the neighbourhood for possible CCTV footage and have spoken with residents asking them to check their home’s CCTV, doorbell cameras or dash cams for times between 7:30 and 8 a.m.

The stolen pickup has distinctive features including a black headache rack in the bed with fading paint, damage to the passenger side step-guard, a foot sized dent in the passenger rear door and the tailgate lift has its lower corner curled up.

Mounties are asking anyone with information to contact Bassano RCMP at 403-641-3677, or anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
