On Oct. 24, Medicine Hat Fire and Emergency Services held a high-class Firefighter’s Gala to celebrate its 125th anniversary and raised $19,625 for the Firefighters Charitable Foundation.
The money was raised through a silent auction with 76 donation items, as well as ticket sales for the formal event.
The evening also featured a performance from duelling pianists, as well as a performance by the Lethbridge Firefighters Pipe and Drum Band.
The gala marks the end of 125 anniversary celebrations held by Medicine Hat Fire throughout the year, which included two community open houses and an historical photo exhibit held at the Esplanade Arts & Heritage Centre.
