Halloween fun for kids to adults available this week

There are plenty of festive Halloween activities to for Hatters of all ages to enjoy some spooky fun this week.

Halloween comes early at the Co-op Kids Club Halloween Party on Wednesday. The Halloween bash will be held at Medicine Hat food store on 13th Avenue from 3-7 p.m. and will include a caramel apple bar, a mini haunted house suitable for children under 12 and pumpkin carving. Pumpkins are included in the $10 admission and you can take home your creation in time for Halloween night.

For families, the Medicine Hat Fire Department is hosting a trick or treat event from 2:30-4:30 p.m. Friday. The fire department invites families to start their Halloween rounds at Fire Station No. 2, where trick-or-treaters will be greeted with treat bags, glow sticks for safety and a photo op with Sparky and a fire truck.

Big Marble Go Centre is also having a Family Fun Night Halloween Spooktacular from 4-8 p.m. which will feature spooky games, crafts and activities for children of all ages. The Halloween night itinerary includes dodgeball, freeze tag, Nerf wars, pumpkin collages and sensory play. Admission is $5 and costumes are encouraged.

The Medicine Hat Public Library is hosting an all-day craft drop-in from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Children of all ages will be invited to make their own Frankenstein-inspired creation.

For those who enjoy a little fright, the Monarch Theatre is putting on a special screening of Halloween (2018) Thursday night at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. Tickets are only available at the door, and will be sold for $5, cash only.

For the grown-ups, parties will be popping up all over the city on Friday night. Put on your costume and join the party at the Silver Buckle, Casa Amigos Cantina and Dayzoff Pub, which are all putting on Halloween celebrations with food, drinks, music and fun.
