Dan Hamilton re-appointed reeve of Cypress County, Shane Hok deputy reeve

Dan Hamilton will serve another term as Cypress County reeve following Monday’s organizational meeting.

All councillors were sworn in for what for most was another four year term, with new council member Garry Procter taking the place of former Ward 7 councillor Richard Oster, who chose not to seek re-election this year.

Hamilton expressed gratitude to his fellow council members as he was acclaimed for the position.

“I take this honour seriously, and I hope I can lead … (and) we can move the county forward,” said Hamilton. “We’re all starting a new cycle for the next four years and I hope we can make the best of it.”

Ward 8 Coun. Shane Hok will be taking on the role of deputy reeve for the coming term as selected by council during the meeting.
