The 28th annual Royal LePage Breast Cancer Charity Golf Classic took over the Medicine Hat Golf and Country Club on Thursday.

This year’s sold-out tournament saw 160 golfers gather to raise money for the Margery E. Yuill Cancer Centre here in Medicine Hat.

The Yuill Family Foundation matches the proceeds raised by the golf tournament. This year’s donation totalled $107,900.

October is international Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Breast cancer is the second leading cause of death for women in Canada. One in eight Canadian women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime.
