Charges have been laid against two people after officers joined members of ALERT’s organized crime unit and the RCMP’s Clandestine Laboratory Enforcement Response Team raided a home on 12th Street NW on Thursday, discovering evidence of a fentanyl lab on Oct. 9.
A substantial amount of drugs and equipment were seized during the raid, and police believe the home was used to alter fentanyl by adding other chemicals.
Forty-three-year-old Denai Lanz and 36-year-old Aaron Greenwood were arrested at the time of the home’s search and now face several charges including possession for the use in production of a controlled substance, possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, possession of drugs, possession of proceeds for crime and unauthorized possession of a weapon.
Lanz has also been charged for failing to comply with release order conditions and remains in custody with her court appearance scheduled for Oct. 21.
Greenwood was released from custody and is expected to appear before court Oct. 28.
Drugs seized have an estimated street value of $135,000 and include 598 grams of fentanyl, 102 grams of methamphetamine, 85 grams of cocaine, 47 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, 21 millilitres of Gamma-Hydroxybutyric acid and more than $5,000 in cash.
