MHIP focusing on waterbody health at upcoming educational event

By Medicine Hat News on September 4, 2025.

Medicine Hat Interpretive Program is exploring what makes watershed healthy, and is hoping residents will come along.

“How do we know if a waterbody is healthy and clean? What lives in the water? How do we assess water quality? We will share the answers to these questions and more during this family-friendly public program,” says Mhairi Donnelly, assistant chief interpreter.

This is a free public program, however registration is required.

Those who call 403-529-6225, or visit the Nature Centre to register, will meet by the pond beside Ajax Coulee in Kin Coulee Park at 10 a.m. on Sept. 13 to be freshwater scientists.
