Southeast Alberta Chamber of Commerce sets forum dates for upcoming election

Medicine Hat voters looking for information or to have questions answered ahead of the October municipal election will have two opportunities this month.

The Southeast Alberta Chamber of Commerce is holding two municipal election forums for Medicine Hat, as well as another in Brooks, ahead of the Oct. 20 election.

The two Medicine Hat forums will be held at the Esplanade Arts & Heritage Centre on Sept. 24 and 26. The doors open for both forums at 5 p.m. and will run until 9 p.m.

On Oct. 1, Brooks voters can attend a forum at the Griffin Park Theatre, doors open at 5 and the forum concludes at 9 p.m.

The forums will follow a format of candidate introductions, a moderated Q&A and debate, as well as concluding remarks.

The Chamber says the public forums offer businesses and residents an opportunity to hear directly from candidates running for city council and to ask questions about the issues that matter most to them and the community.
