Two lengthy sections of the city’s trail network, Viterra Trail and South Ridge Trail, will close Tuesday as annual rehabilitation work is set to begin.
Crews will remove existing asphalt and repave sections on Viterra Trail then moving onto South Ridge Trail to resurface approximately 5.6 kilometres of the Heritage Trail Network this year.
Work begins Tuesday on the Viterra Trail section, expected to be completed in early October. Once that portion is wrapped up, crews will move to work on the South Ridge Trail section, and hope to have work complete by early November.
“We’re excited to continue revitalizing our incredible trail system. The Heritage Trail Network is a shining amenity that allows residents of all ages to explore the community through a variety of modes of transportation,” reads a release.
Users are asked to obey posted signage indicating work ahead as crews progress down the trail, and are reminded to proceed with caution in these areas.
