asmith@medicinehatnews.com The Medicine Hat Interpretive Program is taking a deep look at the flora of Ross Creek Coulee, and hopes residents will come along. The latest guided nature walk offering, “Plants of Ross Creek Coulee,” will take place Sept. 7, beginning at 10:30a.m. Starting in East Glen, a park interpreter will highlight some of the native, naturalized and invasive plants in the area as participants amble along one of what MHIP considers one of the loveliest trails in the city. Those attending are asked to call or come into the Nature Centre in Police Point Park to register, though the program itself is free to attend. As the trail system is rather hilly in sections, MHIP warns that this walk may not be suitable for people with limited mobility, and since the program will take place outdoors, participants are encouraged to dress for the weather, bring water to drink and wear appropriate footwear. Any minors wishing to take part must be accompanied by an adult. This public program is made possible in part thanks to the Land Stewardship Centre of Canada. 7
