Changes to city bus routes 10 and 11 take effect Aug. 28 in an attempt to improve service and schedule adherence in Crescent Heights.

Changes will be in effect between 6:54 a.m. and 10:45 p.m. every day as the city gauges the impact, and feedback is welcomed until the end of the year.

Of note, Route 10 will now have its service shifted to 12th Street NE, and will not run along Eighth Street NE where Monsignor McCoy High School is located.

Service to McCoy High School and Webster Niblock areas will be added to Route No. 11.

According to the city the changes will allow buses to run on a consistent return time to the Transit Terminal, which in turn will improve reliability of transfers to other routes throughout the city.

The changes should also provide riders quicker service to the downtown core, but riders on Route No. 11 will lose their direct service to Co-op Place and the Big Marble Go Centre.

However, riders will be able to access these amenities by transferring to Route No. 10.

During the piloted changes that will be in effect until Dec. 31, the city is seeking feedback from transit riders through an online survey. It can be found by visiting the city’s homepage and selecting the “Neat to Know’ tab.
