Six Hatters have been named to Alberta Health’s Regional Health Advisory. Council 14 represents southeastern Alberta, extending west from the Saskatchewan border and north from the U.S. border. Medicine Hat is located in the middle with communities such as Bow Island and Irvine to the south and Hilda to just beyond Finnigan and Bassano to the northwest. Paul Carolan of Medicine Hat, the chief executive officer of HALO Air Ambulance, is the chair of the 14-person council. The other five Hatters on the council are Gloria Tainsh, Celina Symmonds, Ian Parkinson and Melissa Mullis. Dianne Hyland and Taria Gouw of Bow Island, and Daphne Anstey-Martin, Ahmed Kassem and John Petrie of Brooks are also on the council. The council is tasked with identifying local health issues, exploring potential solutions and advising government. 7
