asmith@medicinehatnews.com Some animals are out mostly at night, and the Medicine Hat Interpretive Program invites their late-night human counterparts to learn all about them. “On this walk, we’ll chat about the animals that venture out at night in our area, exploring which ones are truly nocturnal and which are just opportunists,” said park interpreter Rhys Mah Poy. “We may even have a few surprises in store for you … Bring your curiosities and questions for this thrilling evening walk!” This walk will take place largely after dark, but MHIP assures those interested that light sources will be provided, so there is no need to bring their own. What is not provided is solid walking shoes and weather-appropriate attire, as the walk will proceed come rain or shine. Participants will meet at the Nature Centre at 8 p.m. on Aug.t 27 for this free program, though they are asked to register beforehand, as spaces are limited. All interested are asked to call 403-529-6225 to secure their spot. 7
