The latest grant cycle for the Community Foundation of Southeastern Alberta is open as of Aug. 6. Charities and non-profit groups across southeastern Alberta are encouraged to apply and potentially receive funding to support community-focused programs and initiatives. Eligible applicants include registered charities, municipalities and school divisions, recognized as qualified donees by the Canada Revenue Agency. Non-qualified donees, such as registered Alberta non-profit societies that are currently in good standing and have existed for at least five years, may request up to $5,000. A letter of intent must be submitted by Sept.1, with the full application due by Sept. 15, both by 4:30 p.m. Applicants are encouraged to review the Community Foundation’s 2025 Community Grant Guidelines before applying to ensure eligibility and alignment with funding focus areas. Current focus areas are work and economy, connection and belonging, and basic needs such as health, housing and social isolation in rural areas. Programs and initiatives must serve Medicine Hat & District, Brooks & District, Special Areas 2, 3, 4 and the MD of Acadia, Cypress County, or the County of Forty Mile.
