asmith@medicinehatnews.com Calling all aspiring botanists, the Medicine Hat Interpretive Program hopes to introduce residents to its greener neighbours with the Summer Plant Walk. “Have you ever been enjoying one of the many excellent trails here in MedicineHat and wondered, ‘What are these plants?'” asks park interpreter Genevieve Mathieu. “Then this program is perfect for you!” This guided walk on Sunday, starting at 2 p.m., will bring participants alongside an interpreter to learn about what can be found growing along the Saratoga Park Trail. Attendees will meet at the bottom of Scholten Hill where Saratoga Trail meets Carry Drive. This program, made possible in part thanks to the Land Stewardship Centre of Canada, does require registration to attend. Those interested are asked to call 403-529-6225, and be advised that the walk will go on come rain or shine. 6
