Students share healthcare and technology research

Medicine Hat College is inviting the public to an information session that will showcase the work of six student researchers who have collaborated with industry and faculty mentors to develop applied research projects that aim to address real-world challenges faced in the healthcare sector.

On Thursday, the College Centre for Innovation will be hosting a two-hour event at Centennial Hall for anyone who is curious about innovations in healthcare, exploring cross-campus collaborations or considering future research opportunities.

The six summer research assistants include Chibuiken Chukwunyerenwa, who has tested a markerless motion capture system with Kinetisence.

Nabba Naeem has developed a patient tracking system for rTMS with Reconnect Mental Health.

Felicity Davies-Kelly is known for her contributions to Barcolux light therapy and Motion Capture Lab initiatives.

Cyton Corsie has applied research experience in the C.E.R.E.B.R.O. lab and Jesica Philistin is known for her work enhancing virtual healthcare tools for workplace injury support.

Last on the list is Kaitlind Kelly, who led focus groups and applied storytelling in health research.

The event is planned on Thursday between noon to 2 p.m. at Centennial Hall. The event is free to the public and no reservations are required.
