asmith@medicinehatnews.com With the greatest party on dirt kicking off tomorrow, Quonset Days is looking back on 15 years of great music and an even greater impact. The party returns to the Biemans family farm on Friday and Saturday, bringing together the community from Southeastern Alberta and beyond in support of ALS research with what they promise to be their biggest lineup yet. The 2025 edition of Quonset Days will be headlined by Medicine Hat’s own MacKenzie Porter, alongside other powerful performers such as Jess Moskaluke, Morgan Klaiber and Phoenix. On Saturday, the headline performance will be Default, fronted by Dallas Smith, who will be finishing a night also featuring Owen Riegling, Matt Lang and Vanity Trip. “Ticket sales are strong, and it’s shaping up to be an amazing weekend,” said Trevor Biemans, co-founder of Quonset Days and son of Peter Biemans. “We’ve come a long way in 15 years and we’d love nothing more than to break the $1 million mark on this anniversary. It’s a milestone that would mean the world to our family and everyone who’s been part of this journey.” The festival was created in honour of the senior Biemans, who passed away from ALS in 2009. Since then, the tribute has turned into a two-day music festival, combining a lively community event with an opportunity to raise funds and awareness for ALS research. Tickets are still available for the two full nights of live country music, dancing, food trucks and drinks, with all proceeds going directly toward supporting ALS research and care initiatives. A free shuttle will run to and from Medicine Hat throughout the weekend, and all event details can be found on Quonset Days’ website, social media, or mobile app. Those interested in attending are encouraged to visit quonsetdays.com. 9
