MHPS honours K9 unit with more than 200 calls for service

Police Service Dog Flint, who responded to more than 200 calls and aided in numerous arrests, recently passed away.

“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Police Service Dog Flint,” reads a public statement.

“The MHPS expresses deep gratitude for Flint’s dedicated service and Cst. Dola’s committed leadership to the K9 Unit, PSD Flint’s legacy will be cherished.”

Flint was born in the Czech Republic in Sept, 2014 and would go on to join the MHPS at the age of two in 2016 following training as a drug detection dog and general duties.

Flint also placed second in the evidence searching event at the Canadian Police Dog Championships in 2014.

Flint was reassigned to work with Const. Jason Dola in 2019 and retired after six years of service.
