Vibrancy grant application deadline one week away

Residents have until next Friday afternoon to submit their application to receive a portion of $52,000 available through the city’s Community Vibrancy Grant, which promotes activities, projects and gatherings that bolster community spirit.

Additionally, larger festivals and special events can also apply for a portion of $83,000 that is allocated for events planned to be held in 2026 and 2027. This funding is available for a two-year period as some festivals and events may receive different amounts per year.

Applications are evaluated by city staff using a scoring matrix to determine where the community impact and inclusivity grant funding would go toward.

The scoring matrix scores applications highly if they promote vibrancy, energy and enthusiasm in the community and celebrate living in Medicine Hat, including activities that promote recreation, leisure, arts, cultures and a sense of belonging.

Projects eligible for funding must take place within city limits and provide a budget statement of projected expenses and revenue and be not-for-profit in nature.

The Community Vibrancy Grant funding application must be submitted by 3 p.m. July 18.
