Echo Dale Boat Lake to be temporarily closed next week

On Tuesday and Wednesday next week city crews will be installing a new aeration system at Echo Dale, which will require a two-day closure of the boat lake.

The new aeration system is being installed to help improve water quality in the lake for both aquatic life and public visitors.

Aeration systems add oxygen to bodies of water by typically using mechanical systems that include diffusers or bubblers, or even fountains.

The lake will be closed throughout the day on July 15 and 16 and will reopen to the public Thursday, July 17.
