@MedicineHatNews The MD of Taber has written off $290,000 in taxes owed by an oil company that it now considers to be uncollectable. Razor Energy entered receivership last year, and was sold in part by the courts to a Texcal Energy in late 2024, though a portion of wells and other assets in the municipal district were excluded. They remain with a residual corporation that is now similarly being marketed for sale, but in late June, MD councillors were told two-year-old tax amounts should be considered bad debt. That totals $289,595 in tax and penalties incurred over two years. 6
