asmith@medicinehatnews.com The Medicine Hat Interpretive Program has the perfect offering for those eyeing the coming summer forecast with dread, thanks to their Ice Age in July nature walk. The walk past the glacier-carved coulees will give those attending the chance to learn about the last Ice Age, when ice sheets covered 97% of Canada. “Learn about Medicine Hat’s prehistoric past and view ancient fossils found in the area. Find out how the Ice Age began and what animals roamed ice-covered Alberta during this free family friendly public program,” said park interpreter Nick Holt. No registration is required for this program; those interested are only asked to show up at the Nature Centre in Police Point Park at 10 a.m. prepared to spend roughly an hour outside.
