newsdesk@medicinehatnews.com Thursday evening a Brooks city peace officer attempted to pull over a known suspended motorcycle rider around 10:30 p.m., who then fled from the officer on Silver Sage Road at the speed of 150 km/h. A short while later the officer located the male rider at his residence in Brooks and charged them with excessive speeding (+51 km/h over the posted limit of 80 km/h) driving while unauthorized, failing to stop for a peace officer and careless driving. The male is scheduled to appear before court on Aug. 15 and the motorcycle has been seized for 30 days. Earlier in the day, just before 4:50 p.m. a Brook city peace officer witnessed a vehicle travelling 104 km/h while heading eastbound on Cassils Road with a posted speed limit of 50 km/h. The driver of the vehicle was pulled over and, due to the excuse speed, was issued an automatic court summons to appear before court Aug 15. 7
