The Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede Parade will mimic last year’s downtown route after receiving positive feedback from the community.
The parade will start at the Medicine Hat Police Service station and turn onto Maple Avenue before a left turn onto First Street SE. It will then flow toward city hall before making a left and heading down Sixth Avenue. The parade will then turn right onto Second Street and run until Macleod Trail, where it will loop back around and finish on River Road.
Parade officials are currently accepting entries for participants online. This year’s parade will include two new categories, “canine friends” for those who work with professional canine companies, and decorated golf carts for anyone wishing to decorate at least 80 per cent of a golf cart.
Entry fees in the 10 categories range from $10 to $100, and best decorated floats have the opportunity to win a cash prize.
The 2025 Stampede Parade is planned for the morning of Thursday, July 24. Stampede Week runs July 23-26. Some roads in the area will close at 8:30 a.m. for the parade, such as Finlay and Maple Avenue bridges, River Road, First Street from Maple to Third Avenue, Second Street from S. Railway to Third Avenue and portions of S. Railway and Fourth and Sixth avenues.
