Beginning Friday, Medicine Hat College campuses will be impacted by the IT service’s annual shutdown of all computers, networking equipment and servers that will become offline throughout the weekend.

In Medicine Hat the campus power will be shut off beginning at 4:30 p.m. June 13 and will remain off until the following Monday morning at 7 a.m.

In Brooks the power shutdown will begin Friday morning with the power planned to go offline at 8 a.m. June 13 and return online at the same time the following Monday morning at 7:00 a.m.

To ensure safety, there will be no access to either college building during the shutdown.

During this time access to the college IT system will be unavailable, including all Wi-Fi service at student residences on the Medicine Hat campus.

However, cloud services including access to MHC and mymhc email will not be impacted during this time, as well as Office 365, MS Teams, One Drive, StarRez, Blackboard and Unit 4.

The shutdown will not affect power in the Golfview and Couleeview residences, however Wi-Fi access will be unavailable.
