Two handguns previously stolen from Redcliff and Pincher Creek were part of an ALERT Calgary bust on May 22.
The provincial crime team seized those two hand guns, an additional hand gun, an estimated $320,000 worth of cocaine and methamphetamine, hundreds of rounds of ammunition and $51,000 cash at an apartment in the southeast Calgary neighbourhood of Seton.
“The combination of drugs and handguns yield a considerable threat to community safety. We continue to work with our partners to target dangerous offenders,” Staff Sgt. Hayley Marquis, ALERT Calgary said in a release.
Kay-Jay Swann is charged with possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime, and multiple firearms-related offences. The Calgary man has a lifetime firearms prohibition due to a previous conviction for drug-related offences.
ALERT began investigating Swann’s suspected drug trafficking activity in April.
