asmith@medicinehatnews.com With the Ridin’ For Kids annual fundraiser just around the corner, the organization is looking to get the community spirit started with a car wash and barbecue. On June 7, Saamis Heights Car and Dog Wash will be donating the proceeds from all car washes directly to Ridin’ For Kids, to help support this year’s child, Myah Litosky, and her family. “Reg’s Homestyle Meats & Deli, which is in the same parking lot, is also donating some smokies,” said Ivan Reimer with Ridin’ For Kids. “The Ridin’ For Kids team will be set up there with our barbecues and putting on a barbecue, and all the money from that will be going directly to the foundation, too.” This event runs ahead of the ride itself, which will take place Father’s Day weekend, making it a great opportunity to meet the team and show support ahead of the larger fundraiser. “Come on out, wash your car, grab a smokie and come and meet the team,” said Reimer. “We will have some motorcycles on site. So if there’s kids that want to come have a look, get close to a bike, this is a great opportunity.” He expressed gratitude to Saamis Heights Car and Dog Wash and Reg’s Homestyle Meats & Deli for their support of their cause, as well as the team that makes it all possible. Those interested in getting more information are encouraged to call Reimer at 780-897-2212, or email ridinforkids@gmail.com. The email also accepts e-transfers for those looking to donate directly. 9
