Jehovah’s Witnesses convention moves to Lethbridge this year

A church convention that packed Medicine Hat’s Co-op Place on back-to-back weekends over the past two years will rotate to Lethbridge this month.

Jehovah Witnesses Canada announced Monday that they expect about 3,500 congregation members from southern Alberta, Saskatchewan and southeast British Columbia to attend a gathering at the Lethbridge Agri-food Hub & Trade Centre from June 6-8.

“This will be first time Lethbridge has hosted a convention like this since 1997, and it should be a great weekend” Brad Pramberg, spokesman for Jehovah’s Witnesses, said in a release.

The weekend’s theme is “Pure Worship!” The convention is part of a larger worldwide schedule of gatherings. Medicine Hat was slated to host the 2020 regional event, which was eventually cancelled due to the COVID pandemic. The Hat hosted the events in 2023 and 2024.
