Cypress-Medicine Hat MLA Justin Wright’s assignments on party committees have changed with a shuffle of cabinet earlier this month.

Wright had been on the economic development committee to begin the term, but will now serve on a committee for “public safety and wellness” along with 11 cabinet members and United Conservative Party MLAs.

Wright will also serve as the only non-cabinet member advising to a treasury board group headed by Finance Minister Nate Horner.

A number of cabinet changes were announced May 16, including the promotion of Taber-Warner MLA Grant Hunter to become “associate minister of water” issues.

Hunter was also named to the “Alberta First” working group, along with senior cabinet officials and Joseph Schow, the MLA for Cardston-Siksika, who becomes the new minister of Jobs, Economy, Trade and Immigration.
