Another drone ‘sandbox’ event will be held at Suffield in 2026

CFB Suffield will host another “sandbox” event in 2026 for drone and other uncrewed aircraft developers to test and showcase their products, Medicine Hat Economic Development announced this week.

The event, similar to ones held at the range northwest of Medicine Hat in 2022 and 2024, will be held in late September next year, and allow successful applicant firms up to five days and access to targets. The Canadian Armed Forces, U.S. government, RCMP and other potential buyers will be on scene.
Up to $1.75 million in development grants are available as “sandbox prizes.”
