By MEDICINE HAT NEWS on May 14, 2025.

The intersection of Spencer Street and Dunmore Road at the bottom of Dunmore Hill will be disrupted today due to the unplanned repair of gas infrastructure located within the intersection.

The city announced Tuesday the intersection will remain open while repairs are made, but says there will be traffic restrictions as a result. Those restrictions are as follows:

– Northbound from Dunmore Road SE to Kingsway Avenue SE:

– No left turn onto westbound Spencer Street SE

– Through lane remains upon

– Right turn lane remains open

– Southbound from Kingsway Avenue SE to Dunmore Road SE:

– Left lane may only turn left onto eastbound Spencer Street SE, no through-traffic

– Right lane remains open and may go straight or turn right onto westbound Spencer Street

– Westbound on Spencer Street SE:

– Left turning lane closed

– Right lane remains open to through-traffic or left turns

– Eastbound on Spencer Street SE:

– Left lane remains open to through-traffic or left turns

– Right lane closed to through-traffic

– Right turning lane onto southbound Dunmore Road SE remains open

– The work does not affect the use of Saratoga Trail and pedestrian access around the intersection is maintained.

Crews are repairing a gas pipeline which may release a slight odor but presents no public risk, the city says. The work should be complete today with repaving and reopening expected Thursday.
