@MedicineHatNews Police in Havre, Mont. charged a man with murder on Friday, two days after police in the city said they were investigating a suspicious death. The alleged victim’s vehicle was discovered in Couer d’Alene, Idaho on Thursday, and arrest warrants and a search was conducted Friday to put Cody Rencurel, 35, in custody in Idaho. That comes after Havre police reported potential foul play was suspected when officers found the body of a dead woman at a home in that city on Wednesday. “The circumstances at the scene appear to be suspicious in nature,” according to a statement that pointed to joint investigation with the Montana State Department of Justice investigative division. Local officers found the body of 35-year-old Dixie Schroeder at a home on the 300 block of 14th Avenue at about 2 p.m. on May 7 in the town located 200 kilometres south of Medicine Hat. Police do not believe there is a risk to the public, but moved to quell rumours in the town of 9,300 people by stating the corpse was found “completely intact.” A statement by Havre police on Friday states that during a subsequent search of Rencurel’s property, authorities believe “additional violent crimes were being planned.” 9
