The city is encouraging Tigers fans to participate in another ceremonial escort as the team travels to Spokane, Wash., for Games 3, 4 and, if needed, 5 of the WHL Championship Series.
The team’s bus will leave Co-op Place at 9 a.m. Monday morning and have a ceremonial escort led by the Medicine Hat Police Service, Medicine Hat Fire and Emergency Service, as well as HALO Air Ambulance.
Fans are encouraged to find a spot along the escort route to cheer on the “Beast from the Southeast” as they travel approximately eight hours to Spokane.
The escort will begin at Box Springs Road, to Rotary Centennial Drive and then to Division Avenue N. The escort will then continue down Altawana Drive toward River Road and then turn to the intersection of Fourth Avenue and First Street SE.
Continuing downtown the escort will travel along First Street to S. Railway, toward Second Street.
The team escort will then weave from Second Street to Fourth Avenue, then to Third Street and finally point toward Gershaw Drive and the highway.
First responders and fans also sent off the team bus in style during the third round of the WHL playoffs on April 28 as the team travelled to Lethbridge and would go on to eliminate the Hurricanes in a four-game sweep.
