Throughout 2025, Catholic students have been participating in themed activities led by school faith leaders and staff that includes an act of service within the community as the Church celebrates its Jubilee Year that occurs every 25 years.
Throughout April, students on the St. Mary’s School Grade 7-9 Faith Leadership Team volunteered their time at the Root Cellar Food & Wellness Hub by helping sort and package gemini products into care packages for the End Period Poverty Campaign.
Additionally students created hand-made cards for the volunteers as well as the families who rely on the food bank and were able to add some candy into bags and hampers for a little extra treat for users of the food bank.
In March staff at Mother Teresa School spend time visiting and playing board games with residents at a local senior centre.
Furthermore, all Catholic students will be attending Jubilee prayers and lessons during school assemblies and have the opportunity to go on a pilgrimage.
Every month the Medicine Hat Catholic Board of Education will feature a different school’s Jubilee-themed activities or events on their social media accounts.
