@MedicineHatNews A report in the April 30 edition of the News erroneously stated that several proposed changes to the provincial election law would apply to municipal voting procedures when the reverse is correct. Bill 54 would ban the use of vote electronic tabulating machines to count ballots in a provincial election – thereby aligning with changes made for municipalities last year. Elections Alberta would also be required to post unofficial results within 12 hours of polls closing. There is no time frame or changes to municipal requirements, as was erroneously stated in the report. 4
