asmith@medicinehatnews.com Only two weeks remain to apply for Alberta Blue Cross’s popular Community Wellbeing grant program. The program, which grants $1,000 to winning urban and rural Alberta-based organizations that promote the physical, mental or social wellbeing of community members, closes applications on April 30. “We were overwhelmed last year by the positive response to this program, with more than 650 applications from across the province,” said Brian Geislinger, senior vice-president of Corporate Relations and Community Engagement with Alberta Blue Cross. “So, we’re thrilled to be able to continue to provide this support again through 2025.” Launched in 2023 and extended into 2024, the Community Wellbeing grant awarded 50 community organizations with a $1,000 grant each to support wellbeing in their communities. Funding for the program is provided through the Alberta Blue Cross community foundation.
