Library hosting video game/karaoke night for teens

This Friday night the Medicine Hat Public Library is inviting all teenagers to enjoy some video games, take part in crafts and sing a tune on the karaoke machine.

The library will set up friendly competitions on its Nintendo Switch, XBOX and Playstation 5 systems, as well as opening up its karaoke machine for teens to belt away their favourite tunes in a comfortable atmosphere.

Teens will also be able to make a shrinky-dink keychain or Perler bead creation, and snacks will be provided.

Doors will only be open from 6:45 to 7:15 p.m., and then they will be locked for safety.

On April 25 the library will host its next Teen Night that will be themed around carnivals.

Comic Con

Next month the library will welcome superheroes, evil villains and fantasy characters alike as it gets ready to host its second annual Comic Con on May 3.

Last year the event featured a variety of activities, from a patrolling Darth Vader, to various artists and local publishers hosting tables to show off their talents.

The event also included a costume contest.

The day typically coincides with Free Comic Book Day, and will be occurring the day before Star Wars Day on May 4.
