Registration remains open for the 46th annual Medicine Hat College Rattler Run, which goes April 26 for runners and walkers of all ages and abilities.

The spring run that loops the college’s main campus has a long history and typically draws hundreds of participants each year. Last year more than 450 runners and walkers participated in the second oldest run of its kind in the province.

The run features distances of 3km, 5km and 10km races. Timing will be provided by Race Pro Timing and live results will be posted online immediately following each race.

Medals will be given to the top three racers in each age category for all three distances, and there will also be cash prizes for the top three men and women in both the 5km and 10km race.

Race organizers say they are still seeking four parking lot volunteers to help direct traffic during the Rattler Run for a two-hour period in the morning of race day. Organizers are also seeking volunteers to hand out water and food and set up equipment.

Volunteers are asked to attend a meeting on April 23 at the Crowfoot Room on campus to receive details about volunteer assignments.

Details on race time and a link to register can be found by visiting the college’s website. Individuals interested in volunteering are asked to email khyde@mhc.ab.ca.
