newsdesk@medicinehatnews.com Forty-two-year-old Denai Lanz and 46-year-old Mark Davis, both from Medicine Hat, have been arrested and charged with offences after police conducted a traffic stop downtown last Wednesday. Officers responded to information regarding drug trafficking in the core and identified a suspected vehicle leading to a traffic stop and the arrest of the man and woman. During the investigation, police seized an undisclosed amount of fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, prescription pills as well as a bladed weapon and cash. Police believe the estimated street value of the seized drugs is worth approximately $8,000. Lanz and Davis have both been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking a controlled substance, possession of proceeds of crime and failure to comply with release order conditions. Additionally, Davis was charged with failing to comply with a probation order and possession of a prohibited weapon. Both suspects were held for bail hearing and remanded into provincial custody. Lanz made a court appearance Monday and Davis is scheduled to appear before the court Thursday. 8
