@MedicineHatNews Two municipal union officials from southeast Alberta are on the incoming executive of the provincial board of the Canadian Union of Public Employees. Jason Fenske, president of CUPE 46, representing city workers in Medicine Hat, was named executive vice president (south) during the union’s provincial convention on the weekend. Tabitha Williams, of CUPE 1032, representing Brooks city workers, is the regional vice president of the Medicine Hat region. The union’s new president is Raj Uppal, 41, a worker with the Grey Nuns Hospital in Edmonton and a two-term local president, CUPE announced March 21. “I’m excited to get started and to keep building our union as a strong force for working people,” she said. “We need to have strong working relationships with other unions, especially in the public sector, to build solidarity and win gains for working people.” Uppal defeated incumbent candidate Rory Gill in a vote of members of the union, which represents 40,000 workers. 8
Yesterday I was cleaning out my closet and needed something to keep me motivated. I decided to look for a site with live action to play in the background. Found live cams and it’s loaded with live feeds of people chatting and performing. Free to watch and they’ve got token deals for tipping or private shows which adds some excitement. Truthfully it made the task a lot less dull.
