Veiner Centre events: Easter craft night planned to celebrate spring’s arrival

To celebrate spring and the arrival of Easter next month, the Unison at Veiner Centre is hosting an hour-long themed-craft night on April 3.

Participants will create an Easter carrot hanging sign that can be hung up or used as a shelf sitter.

The event is designed for both seasoned and new crafters and promises ample time to enjoy “crafting and the company of fellow enthusiasts.”

The cost is $19 cash and all materials will be provided.

“This event promises a fun and relaxing evening for everyone. Don’t miss out on the chance to create something beautiful and uniquely yours,” reads an promotional ad.

Registration is required for the craft night that runs from 5:30-6:30 p.m. April 3.

Spring Tea

Later in April, just in time for blooming flowers, the Veiner Centre will host a Spring Tea, accompanied by a special performance from the Veiner Centre Choir.

The afternoon event will include elegant cups and teapots and an assortment of “delectable” desserts.

“Whether you are a tea enthusiast or just seeking a beautiful way to spend your day, this gathering will surely warm your heart and uplift your spirits,” reads a promotional ad.

Tickets for the two-hour event are $10 each, cash only. The Spring Tea begins at 2 p.m. sharp April 12.

Meals on Wheels

Next week the Veiner Centre will conclude its month-long camping to support its Meals on Wheels program.

For each $60 in donations, the Veiner Centre is able to provide a senior with nutritious meals for a month. Donations can be made online on the Veiner Centre’s website.

Until April 30 residents can also donate money from their recycled bottles and cans at Shamrock Bottle Depot, or drop off their recyclables at the Veiner Centre.

Additionally, the Medicine Hat Brewing Co. is donating $1 from each purchase of a mojito or margarita throughout March.
