Three people sent to hospital following collision in Brooks

First responders in Brooks attended a two-vehicle collision Thursday afternoon that sent three people to hospital for precautionary evaluations.

Brooks RCMP say they responded to the collision at the intersection of Cassils Road and Fourth Street W shortly after 2:45 p.m. alongside Brooks Fire and EMS.

According to officers a southbound van attempted to turn left at the intersection and collided with a northbound SUV. The driver of the van was issued a ticket for careless driving.

Vehicle Theft

On Thursday evening Brooks RCMP revived a report of a stolen blue Dodge Caravan just before 8:30 p.m.

Officers say a female victim exited her van to check her mail and while outside of her vehicle a female suspect entered the vehicle and drove off.

On Friday a County Peace Officer located and successfully recovered the stolen van on Eastern Irrigation District land off Highway 36. Police say the investigation is ongoing.
