@MedicineHatNews In-person sessions to discuss the provincial government’s passenger rail strategy concluded Tuesday in Edmonton, but an online survey for all Albertans will remain open until April 15. Four consultation sessions took place this month, including open houses in Calgary, Red Deer and Canmore, as Alberta develops a Passenger Rail Masterplan that would aim to link municipalities in the central corridor and tourism destinations in mountain parks. An online engagement session is also planned to take place April 3. Along with the extension of inter-municipal commuter rail around the two major centres, high-level plans also envision an eventual development or regional lines to Medicine Hat, Lethbridge, Fort McMurray and Grande Prairie. Kenney joins Postmedia board Former Alberta premier Jason Kenney has joined the corporate board of Postmedia, Inc., publishers of four major newspapers in Alberta among 130 titles in Canada, the company announced Tuesday. Kenney was premier from 2019 to 2022 after serving in federal cabinet as minister of immigration, employment and national defence. He currently works as senior adviser to business law firm Bennett Jones, and is a board member with Atco Ltd. 10
