@MedicineHatNews Defence Research and Development Canada will conduct explosives testing at the proving grounds near Suffield today and Wednesday, according to a notice from Cypress County. Explosions will be heard between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily near the southern boundary of CFB Suffield but should pose no danger to the general public. Runoff report Spring runoff conditions could be above normal in most of southwest Saskatchewan, though new outlook snowmelt from Maple Creek to the Alberta boundary is already mostly complete. The Saskatchewan Water Security Agency stated on March 14 that above normal levels exist from Cypress Hills to Swift Current, as well as Leader and a wide band across the middle of the province. “The South Saskatchewan River Basin is expected to see a near to slightly above normal runoff from the prairie portion,” it states. “The runoff from the mountains is expected to be lower than normal this year.” Most of the province is considered to be at low risk of drought this summer, with a smaller chance in an area north of Kindersley and higher drought risk in regions from Val Marie and Swift Current to Regina and Estevan The report also detailed normal operating ranges of reservoirs and slightly above normal levels at Lake Diefenbaker. 10
