newsdesk@medicinehatnews.com Brooks RCMP have released the names of two Brooks women who were arrested Jan. 30 in an ongoing drug investigation that led to the seizure of 55 grams of methamphetamine along with other illicit drugs worth more than $35,000. Amela Beganovic and Dawna Lee Tatoiu have both been charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and are both scheduled to appear in court on March 26. An earlier press release from Brooks RCMP issued Jan. 31 stated the woman’s ages were 58 and 37. The charges stem from Brooks RCMP and the Southern Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit executing two search warrants and a vehicle stop as a result of a drug investigation. Along with the seizure of methamphetamine, police also discovered 183 grams of cocaine and 700 tablets of dilaudid, which is a hydromorphone belonging to the opioid class of drugs. 7
