Upcoming “Arts for Africa” will showcase the work of artists in Medicine Hat and region for an opportunity to support their fellow human a world away. Canadians Reaching out to the World’s Children, better known as CARO, aims to collect funds for a community-based project in Burkina Faso, West Africa and Teega Wende, the orphanage they support in the area. The show, which will take place on April 5 from 1-4 p.m. in the St. John’s Church hall “has been generously donated by many well-known local artists and collectors,” says CARO. The show will also feature fabric art from Burkina Faso to peruse and purchase. All funds will go directly to the orphanage and the young children who rely on it, the group says. “Local musicians Emmanuel Misago Umoja Family, originally from Burundi, are sure to delight with their singing and dancing. Food and conversation will be on hand, too. An afternoon to appeal to every taste,” says CARO. Admission to the show is free, and several payment options will be available. 7
