Bow Island ER dept. temporarily closed

The emergency department at the Bow Island Health Centre will be temporarily closed started this morning.

Alberta Health Services announced on Monday the department will be closed from 7 a.m. today until 7 a.m. Friday, when it will re-open to provide 24-hour service. The temporary closure, according to AHS, is due to an unexpected clinical personnel shortage and inability to secure coverage.

During the temporary closure, nursing staff will remain on-site to provide care for acute care patients and long-term care residents.
